 Michael was born in London in March 1940 to Andrew and Mary Mouravieff-Apostol-Korobyine. He spent the war years at Wooley Firs under the tutelage of his nanny, Zelly, and his grandmother, Lillian (Digges) Hall Caine. His father had been forced to leave England at the outset of the war in late 1940 and his mother spent most of the war in the service of the Royal Air Corps.After the war, he spent a few years at Summerfields, a boys boarding school in England, and then the British School near Geneva, Switzerland.When his parents divorced in 1954 and his mother moved to Washington DC, Michael went along and graduated from Woodrow Wilson public school in Washington DC's fashionable northwest area in 1956. He spent a year at the Virginia Military Institute before transfering to the Citadel at the recommendation of General Mark Clark. He graduated as a second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves on the third of August 1962. He spent a couple of years as Provost Marshal at a base near Verduns, France where he married his first wife, Mary Petersen in 1964. In 1965, he attended the Army Special Forces Warfare School at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. Shortly after that, his active duty status ended and he entered the Harvard Business School, graduating on June 16th, 1967 with a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Soon after, he and his wife divorced and Michael took a position as  an executive with Phillip Morris International. By the 1970s he had moved to New York working with Merrill Lynch and other brokerage firms. He married Mary Westerlund in 1975 but their marriage didn't last for more than a few years and ended in divorce and again no children. Michael founded his own investment firm and travelled between his Manhattan townhouse and Palm Beach home servicing his wealthy client base. In 1979, he married Mary Saxon who had joined his firm as an assistant and soon thereafter his first child, Alex, was born in 1983. In 1991, his second child, Peter was born. The family moved to Palm City in Florida in 2008 and in 2010 he lost his third wife to liver disease. Alex became a computer systems engineer and moved to upstate New York. His marriage produced two sons and a daughter and made Michael a three times over grandfather. Peter started his own financial business in Palm Beach after graduating from the University of Miami in 2013.  Michael retired from business life to enjoy the south Florida lifestyle in the Palm Beaches.
